 Fandom: Underworld (Original Character) Name: Lothoro Mészáros (Not his birth name) Nationality: Magyar (however, he descended from the Celtic tribes who influenced future Hungarian lands at the time when Hungary was not yet a nation). Turned: Three years after Amelia, approximately a millennia and half ago Visual appearance: 38 Alignment: Limbo Physical Characteristics: Sandy blondish-brown medium length hair, tan (because of UV damage), Brown eyes that turn amber-gold when pissed off. Signature style: (Off-duty) tan leather pants, boots, a faded button down shirt that is open at the collar. (On-duty) same "uniform" as other knights-black leather, reinforced by metallic alloy within folds of fabric. No coven markings on attire unlike Death Dealers. Personality: Cocky, sarcastic, charismatic and easy-going. Good-natured except when angry. Keeps calm and in control, because his anger is usually unhinged and uncontrollable. Goes with the flow, protective, honorable, loyal, determined, tenacious, social. Stubborn and unyielding. Changed with times but core remains old fashioned. Abilities: (Original)--Not sensitive to crosses, holy water, coffins, stakes, sleeping in earth. Their vampirism is a result of a virus not some curse. (Evolved--through RP) Excessively strong and not sensitive to sunlight as a result of Selene saving him with her blood. This is strictly ooc knowledge. He's a tracker. See bio for explanation. Combat skills (archaic and modern) and diplomacy. Other abilities as seen by vampires in UW fandom. Weakness: Dismemberment. Any extensive damage to the heart. Disorientation and empathy ("Why must I feel guilt for your crimes?"). Having nearly died, Lothoro was only saved by the grace of Selene's blood and later a number of other donors. Having gained blood from vampires who were not able to collect and organize their thoughts, led him to have too many memories which he in turn is having trouble shuffling through. He feels through their memories, because he is not yet capable of detaching himself from them. Sometimes he is unable to distinguish his memories from their own. As a result, some of the other knights have begun jokingly calling him "The Historian". He harbors their secrets and memories, which does not please some of them with things to hide. The change may have benefited him physically, but it set him back mentally. He often grapples with his sense of self and has returned from the grave (so-to-speak) changed. Lothoro is a knight turned by Amelia about three years after she was turned. He sided with Amelia and Viktor when the elders-Marcus, Viktor and Amelia-started their campaign to hunt down William, Marcus' brother, the first Lycan. William was as powerful as he was ravenous, which led Viktor to decree that he be caught and then locked in a special tomb for all eternity. Amelia took his side and therefore the knights, hers. This did not please Marcus. Not at all. Lothoro was knighted when he was mortal by Amelia's father who died shortly thereafter, leaving her to rule in his stead. Having known Amelia since she was young, he quickly became a close confident equal to that of a sibling. As they say, when you have no family, you have to chose it for yourself. The knight's father died in battle when he was a boy and his mother was part of King's court as a lady in waiting to the Queen before the monarch died of disease. Of course, at that time such terms were not yet in existence and "monarchy" still regaled to tribal simplicity. Lothoro as a mortal military man had an uncanny ability as a tracker, being able to deduce the enemies forces by looking not only at abandoned camp sites but gathering information on small details such as how much bread enemy forces ordered to be made, which told him the size of the force. By gathering information he was able to see through the enemies attempts at deception and quickly find them. When Selene was young (and mortal), it was Lothoro who was tasked with watching over her and protecting her from the Lycan hordes, Lucian (who had gotten free) and even Marcus, lest they found out that she was the map that could lead them to William's tomb. In Tenebrae Nostro RP Community, a twist occurs where it is revealed that Amelia is actually Selene's mother, which is why her knight (as opposed to a Death Dealer who was more loyal to Viktor) was assigned to her. Over the years he grew fond of Selene, something he tried to hide from the elder despite her knowledge. His deepest grievance and failure came when Viktor turned Selene into a vampire and then plotted against them all. The Elder was forced into first cycle of slumber but made her knights promise to find Selene. Once they found out the treachery and events that transpired, they plotted against the remaining elders (both who had a hand in the plot to a lesser or greater degree). Matayas, another knight, who had been closer to Amelia, committed the crime of killing a Council Member loyal to Viktor and who lied for him. The knights, being terribly honor bound and loyal to one another and Amelia, fought against Death Dealers who were told to reign them in. Once captured, Lothoro and the other knights were placed into a torturous exile were they very nearly starved to death. Amelia was awoken 200 hundred years later (after Marcus and Viktor ruled for 100 years a piece) to find that out that she had been bitterly betrayed by Viktor. With their hearts stopped in a near slumber, it was still awhile before Amelia realized that they were alive. The elder, unable to stay in Ordoghaz, ruled the New World coven and oversaw Ordoghaz from outside Hungary through Kraven. It wasn't until terrible nightmares and her own search through Viktor's lies revealed that the knights were in exile. Through her nightmares, she learned of the hideous evil game that he played with them by putting moral women and children in the catacombs with them. It's still a source of deep shame for the knights but miraculously only three woman were killed through hunger (none survived the transformation) though Lothoro and Matayas never gave into it. However, to them, what they had to do to prevent the mortals death's at the hands of starving vampires, was just as bad. When he was found, the hunger from the disease had nearly ravaged his humanity. Regardless, she fed them her blood until they were strong enough to move out of the catacombs and eventually escape out of Hungary so that Viktor thought they were still in exile. The knights dispersed around Europe and only reconstituted when they learned of Amelia's demise, which they knew to be false since they still softly felt her presence. After the events of Evolution, the knights are back by Amelia's side in the New World while she recuperates and struggles to pick up the pieces of whatever is left the ghosts of Ordoghaz. It is there that Lothoro learns that Selene is in the New World from Amelia, whose grief initially has her at odds with her daughter who she hoped would come before the new incomplete council. Lothoro, however, is torn between what he feels for his long time love and what the Amelia wants to do. However, with Amelia and Selene making amends and the coven dipped into new wars, Lothoro and Selene were brought together. The tide has changed as time passed, leaving Amelia to realise that her own goals to reconstitute the coven in a "golden age". Her designs to include Selene in the future allow Lothoro and Selene to pursue their relationship. Now, after having nearly been killed by Blade (in TN) he has been changed by Selene's blood, although this is a secret that NO ONE knows about, and he intends to keep it that way for the most part for as long as he can.
